Shaheen Shah Afridi has chosen Mohammad Rizwan over Babar Azam as his favorite captain. At a press conference in which he was introduced as Lahore Qalandars captain, the 21-year-old said Rizwan was a better captain than current Pakistan skipper Babar.
“The personality I like the most is Mohammad Rizwan. I have played domestic cricket with him at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and I liked his way a lot. Babar has also led the Pakistan team well but Rizwan is best,” Shaheen answered after he was asked about whom he admired the most as captain.
Babar Azam leads Pakistan across all three formats, while Mohammed Rizwan is his deputy in Test cricket. At the same time, Shaheen will serve as the team’s captain for the first time. The Lahore Qalandars, who have not won the PSL yet out of all the franchises in the Pakistan Super League, has chosen him as captain in place of Sohail Akhtar. The 7th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2022) is scheduled to start on January 27.
